In 2022, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) continued to demonstrate its commitment to
gender equality, as reflected in the proportion of female graduates across its various
programs. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5) – Gender Equality, UDM’s
graduation data shows that women are leading in several key disciplines, particularly in the
Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) and Humanities and Social Sciences
(HUMSS) programs.
Out of a total of 2,587 graduates, the breakdown across STEM, ABM, and HUMSS programs
shows that:
- In STEM, 211 of the 426 graduates were female, nearly matching their male
counterparts. - In ABM, female graduates significantly outnumbered males, with 498 women
compared to 171 men among the 669 graduates. - HUMSS recorded the highest female participation, with 896 female graduates out of
1,492, further emphasizing the university’s commitment to fostering women’s
academic achievements.
These numbers highlight UDM’s success in promoting gender equality in higher education,
ensuring that women are not only enrolled in greater numbers but also excelling in their
fields of study.
