Universidad de Manila, guided by the principle of Urban Farming and Land Use Governance, aims to raise awareness and educate primarily the students, and the public on ways techniques and alternatives with regard to farming and land use for the sustainability of food provision.
On a smaller scale, UDM’s initiative, the Community Pantry, part of the UDM C.A.R.E.S platform, was more than just a distribution of food; it is a symbol of unity, resilience, and shared responsibility within the academic community which aligns with SDG 2, Zero Hunger.
The UDM Community Pantry and Soup Kitchen are testaments to the university’s dedication to social responsibility and its ongoing efforts to contribute to the health and well–being of its community. Through initiatives like this, UDM continues to play a vital role in building a healthier, more resilient society.
