UDM Strengthen Partnership with Adopted Community through MOA Signing

In line with its mission of fostering significant societal impact through community engagement and extension services, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) formalized its partnership with Brgy. 790 Zone 86, Sta. Ana, Manila, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held on June 8, 2023.
This momentous occasion brought together key university officials, including University President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ronald A. Herrera, Vice President for Administration Manfredo A. Marcellano, Vice President for Comptrollership Jeffrey Litan, as well as College Deans, administrative heads, directors, program chairs, faculty members, staff, and students.
Representing the adopted community were Brgy. Chairman Ian H. Orendain, along with Kagawads Rolando S. Herrera, Napoleon I. Solomon, Aurora S. Aragones, Myrna B. Dacalaño, Minda Amor A. Reyes, Cristina F. Gubac, and Don Ramon D. Fernandez. Other notable attendees included SK Chairman Ralph Anthony Avelino, Brgy. Secretary Ma. Carmen F. Magsino, Brgy. Treasurer Tarcila B. Galope, and Ex-Officio Rogelio F. Duque, accompanied by several community constituents.
The MOA was signed by Dr. Carlos-Tria, Dr. Herrera, and the Director of the Community Extension Services on behalf of UDM, while Brgy. Chairman Orendain and two Kagawads represented the community.
This momentous event was organized by the Center for University Extension Services and the National Service Training Program Student Council, showcasing UDM’s commitment to social responsibility and collaboration with local communities.
On the day itself, a Soup Kitchen Pantry sponsored by Councilor Bobby Espiritu was held, and residents of Brgy. 790 received rice and grocery donations, showing UDM’s commitment to supporting its partner community.
This partnership demonstrates UDM’s vision of empowering communities through impactful and sustainable initiatives, strengthening its role as a catalyst for a meaningful progress.
