On February 23, 2024, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) issued an advisory addressed to Punong Barangays, Sangguniang Barangay Members, Barangay Secretaries, Treasurers, employees, and other concerned stakeholders. The advisory provided important updates regarding the six (6)-installment tuition fee payment scheme for the Associate in Barangay Governance (ABG) Program offered by the Universidad de Manila (UDM).
The installment scheme aims to make the program more accessible to barangay officials and staff, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their ability to enhance their governance and leadership competencies. This initiative reflects UDM’s and DILG’s shared commitment to empowering barangay leaders through education while addressing practical challenges faced by local government officials.
For further inquiries about the payment scheme or the program, the advisory encouraged individuals to contact Ms. Laarni Hernandez, the Marketing Officer, at 0916 227 6010. This streamlined approach ensures efficient communication and assistance for interested participants.
The updated tuition fee payment scheme continues to position the ABG program as a model for inclusive and impactful grassroots governance education in the Philippines.
