Universidad de Manila (UdM) continues its steadfast commitment to creating a sustainable and
equitable workplace, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 – Decent Work and
Economic Growth. One of the key pillars of this effort is ensuring appropriate expenditure per
employee, reflecting UdM’s dedication to providing fair compensation, essential benefits, and
professional development opportunities to its workforce.
During the academic year S.Y. 2022–2023, UdM reinforced its commitment by regularly
assessing and improving employee compensation structures. This initiative highlights the
university’s focus on fostering a conducive environment that promotes both individual well–
being and institutional economic growth. By prioritizing transparency, equitable decision–
making, and continuous professional development, UdM exemplifies its role as a socially
responsible educational institution.
Adequate employee compensation is not only vital to ensuring the well–being of the workforce
but also essential to driving sustainable economic growth within the institution. Through these
efforts, UdM sets a positive example for other organizations striving to achieve the goals set out
in SDG 8, demonstrating that fair work conditions and economic progress can go hand in hand.
This ongoing commitment ensures that UdM maintains its position as a leader in fostering decent
work and supporting economic growth in the academic sector. As the university continues to
monitor and enhance these efforts, it looks forward to further contributing to the creation of a
sustainable, fair, and inclusive workplace for all.
