The Universidad de Manila (UDM) marked a significant milestone on July 31, 2023, with its 25th Commencement Exercises, held at the prestigious Philippine International Convention Center. This grand event, which aligns with the university’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1) – No Poverty, celebrated the achievements of 2,880 graduates who are now poised to make their mark in the world.
The ceremony brought together students from various colleges, including 619 from the College of Business Administration (CBA), 897 from the College of Education (CED), 709 from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), 277 from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), 167 from the College of Health Sciences (CHS), and 211 from the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ). The event was a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the rigorous education they received at UDM.
The commencement was graced by notable figures, including UDM President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Ronald A. Herrera, University Registrar Loida J. Primavera, and Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Cruz, who delivered inspiring messages to the graduates. A total of 153 UDM committee members, including distinguished speakers, ensured the smooth execution of this momentous occasion.
As the graduates take their first steps beyond the university’s walls, this event marks a critical turning point in their lives. It not only honors their academic accomplishments but also underscores UDM’s role in providing education that empowers individuals to rise above poverty and contribute meaningfully to society.
