In a significant step towards fostering global academic partnerships, Universidad de Manila (UDM) hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony and benchmarking session with the Academic Indonesia Consortium (AIC). The event, facilitated by the International Affairs Office under the University Research, Extension, Linkages, and International Affairs (URELIA), was held at the Accreditation Room of UDM and marked a new chapter in UDM’s commitment to international collaboration and academic excellence.
The program commenced with the arrival and registration of the AIC delegation, followed by a warm welcome and opening ceremony featuring the UDM Prayer, Philippine National Anthem, and Indonesia Hymn. UDM President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria delivered a heartfelt welcome represented by Dr. Ronald A. Herrera, Vice President for Academic Affairs, underscoring the shared vision between the two institutions to enhance education and research capabilities.
Dr. Leila Gano, Director of URELIA, presented the UDM officials, while Prof. Santy Christinawati, International Affairs Officer of Politeknik Piksi Ganesia, introduced the AIC Consortium. This exchange of introductions highlighted the depth and diversity of expertise within both organizations.
The MOU signing ceremony was the centerpiece of the event, symbolizing the formalization of collaborative commitments. The leadership teams from UDM and AIC signed the agreement, which aims to promote joint academic initiatives, student and faculty exchange programs, and shared research projects.
Following the signing, AIC President Dr. Prihartono delivered a message emphasizing the importance of cross-border partnerships in addressing global educational challenges. UDM Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ronald A. Herrera concluded the ceremony with closing remarks, expressing optimism for the fruitful outcomes of this partnership.
This collaboration aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in enhancing quality education, fostering innovation, and building partnerships for global progress.
