The XII International Scientific and Practical Conference, titled “ONENESS IN DIVERSITY – 2024,” was held on November 27, 2024, at The Moscow Government University (28, Sretenka Str.). Organized by the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the Government of Moscow in collaboration with Moscow Government University, the conference brought together experts, policymakers, and community leaders to explore critical issues related to interethnic and interreligious relations, cultural integration, and national policy.
The conference focused on themes vital to Moscow’s diverse population, including updates to the Strategy of the National Policy of the City of Moscow, strategies for preventing interethnic tensions and conflicts, and fostering cultural adaptation for migrant workers. Additionally, strengthening the patriotic education of youth, inspired by Russia’s history of multinational unity, emerged as a central discussion point. A significant part of the discourse centered on international perspectives on forming and implementing national policies, particularly in preventing interethnic conflicts and promoting the social and cultural integration of foreign citizens. These discussions strongly aligned with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), emphasizing the need for inclusive and participatory governance to foster peaceful and cohesive societies.
A highlight of the event was the participation of Dr. Arnold O. He emphasized the importance of cultural preservation and inclusivity, showcasing the role of national and local governments in maintaining peace and fostering integration. His talk highlighted the Philippines’ proactive measures, such as community-based conflict resolution and interfaith dialogues, as effective practices for fostering harmony.
Dr. Adante’s presentation underscored the importance of SDG 16, as he detailed how policies promoting inclusivity and equitable participation can prevent conflict and build trust in diverse communities. His insights resonated deeply with the audience, offering actionable approaches to bridging cultural and ethnic divides in urban environments.
The XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “ONENESS IN DIVERSITY – 2024” proved to be a pivotal event for exchanging ideas and best practices in fostering unity amid diversity.
