To strengthen collaboration and maximize the impact of its community engagement initiatives, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) held an Extension College Program Alignment Meeting on March 6, 2025, at the University Research, Extension, Linkages, and International Affairs (URELIA) Office. The meeting brought together College Focal Persons (Extensionists) to present and share their respective extension programs, ensuring that their efforts align with UDM’s overarching Extension Linkages Platform, “Healthy Habitat: Sustainable Community Solutions for Vector and Domestic Animal Management.”
During the session, each college representative presented their ongoing and upcoming extension programs, highlighting their focus areas, target beneficiaries, and expected outcomes. The discussions provided an opportunity to identify potential areas for collaboration, share best practices, and explore ways to integrate multidisciplinary expertise into community-driven projects.
The meeting was attended by the designated College Focal Persons (Extensionists):
- College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) – Prof. George Quiambao
- College of Criminal Justice (CCJ) – Prof. Voltaire Perales
- College of Engineering and Technology (CET) – Prof. Christina Atal
- College of Health Sciences (CHS) – Prof. Enriquito Mahinay Jr.
- College of Business Administration (CBA) – Prof. Edwin Tan
- College of Education (CED) – Prof. Joel Ramos (representing Dr. Ricardo Reyes)
Each representative outlined their college’s contributions, ensuring that their expertise aligns with UDM’s mission to create cleaner, healthier, and more resilient communities. Discussions highlighted opportunities for collaboration, with colleges integrating public health, engineering solutions, policy advocacy, education, and business strategies to develop a comprehensive and sustainable approach for Barangay 790.
The alignment meeting serves as a crucial step in refining the University’s Extension Linkages Agenda, ensuring that every initiative contributes meaningfully to the betterment of local communities. Moving forward, URELIA and the colleges will continue to work closely to develop strategic partnerships, enhance resource-sharing, and implement extension activities that reflect UDM’s commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development.
As a result of this alignment meeting, UDM’s extension efforts will be more cohesive, strategic, and impactful, ensuring that the Healthy Habitat platform effectively addresses community concerns while fostering a culture of sustainability and social responsibility. With URELIA spearheading the initiative and colleges working in unison, UDM remains committed to driving meaningful change—empowering communities with the knowledge and resources to sustain healthier environments for generations to come.
