In a heartwarming display of solidarity, the College of Health Sciences (CHS) Faculty, in partnership with the Gender and Development (GAD) office, Red Cross Youth Council, UDM Philippine Nursing Students’ Association (PNSA), Every Nation Campus, and Nursing Alumni, proudly launched the community extension program titled “Nourishing Hopes: Feeding Hearts, Building Futures.” The event took place on November 22, 2024, at Barangay 790, Sta. Ana, Manila, as part of a shared mission to promote good health, well-being, and a brighter future for the local community.
This program focused on bringing joy, nourishment, and valuable knowledge to the children of Barangay 790. Through a series of engaging activities, health education sessions, and community-building efforts, the event aimed to strengthen the bonds of solidarity and compassion. The activities not only aimed to provide nutritious meals and snacks but also included fun-filled games that sparked laughter and joy, creating a festive atmosphere for the children.
The health education sessions were designed to promote wellness and raise awareness on the importance of maintaining good health. These sessions served as a vital tool in educating the young participants about healthy habits that contribute to their overall well-being. Alongside these informative sessions, thoughtful gifts were distributed, which brought smiles to the faces of the children, leaving them with cherished memories of the event.
As UDM strives to work towards achieving a healthier, more supportive society, this initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of community-driven actions. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of others, one meal and one moment at a time.
