Universidad de Manila Brings Joy to 400 Kids in Barangay 790 with Christmas Gift-Giving Event
On a heartwarming day on December 14, 2024, at Barangay 790, Zone 86, District V, Sta. Ana, Manila, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) brought smiles to the faces of 400 children during its annual Christmas Gift-Giving Event. The event featured the distribution of bags of goodies, toys, and snacks, spreading the spirit of joy and generosity to the local community.
Leading the meaningful initiative was UDM President Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, who personally handed out the gifts to the children, fostering a sense of connection and care with the adopted barangay. The activity reflects UDM’s commitment to community engagement and outreach, going beyond academics to uplift and support the communities it serves.
This gift-giving event is also part of the university’s broader Extension and Community Outreach Program, spearheaded by the University Research, Extension Linkages, and International Affairs (URELIA) Office, under the leadership of Dr. Leila Gano. Through programs like these, UDM reinforces its dedication to making a tangible impact in the lives of local residents, particularly in underserved communities.
By extending the holiday spirit to Barangay 790, UDM continues to embody its mission of being a catalyst for positive change and inclusivity, ensuring that the university remains a beacon of hope and service for the people of Manila.
