ABG Graduates Share Transformative Experiences Through “Discovery of Innovative Approaches to Barangay Governance” Leaflet

In August 2024, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) showcased the achievements and testimonials of the first batch of graduates from the Associate in Barangay Governance (ABG) Program. The graduates produced a leaflet entitled “Discovery of Innovative Approaches to Barangay Governance,” which highlights the program’s profound impact on their leadership skills and governance practices. 

The leaflet serves as both a reflection of their journey and a testament to the transformative power of the ABG Program. It details their accomplishments in each of the seven (7) courses, from creating transparent financial systems to drafting actionable barangay development plans. The graduates expressed how the program equipped them with the essential skills, knowledge, and values needed to address the unique challenges in their communities. 

At the core of their message is the philosophy they have embraced: “At the heart of the ABG Program is a deep-seated commitment to public service.” The graduates emphasized their sense of duty and passion for creating tangible, meaningful change in their barangays. They believe that effective governance is not merely about resource management but also about inspiring and mobilizing people toward a shared vision of progress and prosperity. 

This initiative underscores the ABG Program’s success in shaping future-ready barangay leaders who are ethical, innovative, and dedicated to public service. The leaflet is a proud representation of the graduates’ journey, their philosophy, and their commitment to fostering sustainable development in their communities.
