Henry Gavino Shares Life Lessons from UID Subjects
Henry Gavino, a third-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication student from the College of Arts and Sciences, recently shared his reflections on the transformative impact of Universidad de Manila’s University Identity (UID) subjects. He emphasized the importance of ethics and integrity, which, according to him, are vital principles in navigating a world filled with challenges. Through UID, he learned how honesty and strong principles not only guide personal decisions but also foster trust and respect in relationships, both personal and professional.
Gavino highlighted how he applies these lessons in his daily life, especially in school projects and group activities. He ensures his contributions are of high quality and values collaboration, promoting unity and teamwork among his peers. This approach, he believes, helps him become a role model and an example of responsible student leadership.
The UID subjects also instilled in him the significance of achievements driven by passion. Gavino shared how this lesson motivates him to set meaningful goals and strive for excellence in everything he does. He expressed his excitement for the fourth-year UID subject on leadership and innovation, believing it will inspire him to create positive change not just for himself but also for others.
Moreover, Gavino recognized the broader impact of UID subjects in strengthening his relationships with his family, peers, and community. He recounted fulfilling moments of giving back, such as community clean-up drives and outreach programs, which deepened his sense of empathy and responsibility.
For Gavino, the lessons from UID subjects go beyond academics—they serve as a guide for becoming a better person. He concluded by affirming his commitment to growth, integrity, and making meaningful contributions to society, inspired by the values he learned from UID.
