UDM Strengthens Public Health with Strategic Partnerships in Manila
In 2023, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) furthered its commitment to promoting good health and well-being by collaborating with key public health institutions in the City of Manila. Through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with Sta. Ana Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center, and the Manila Health Department, UDM formalized strategic partnerships aimed at improving health outcomes for the city’s residents, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health and Well-being.
The MOU signing ceremony, attended by Manila City Mayor Hon. Maria Shiela “Honey” Lacuna, UDM President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan, Sta. Ana Hospital Director Dr. Grace H. Padilla, and Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center Director Dr. Karl Oliver B. Laqui, marks a pivotal moment in the university’s collaboration with the public health sector.
These partnerships will enable UDM students, particularly those from health-related programs, to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the health and well-being of Manila’s citizens. The collaboration also emphasizes the shared goal of improving healthcare access and services for underprivileged communities, ensuring a healthier future for all.
