The 15th Annual Conference of the Asian Criminological Society, held from August 8–10, 2024, at Midas Hotel in Pasay City, highlighted the expertise and significant contributions of Atty. Rodolfo V. Castillo Jr., Senior Criminology Faculty member and Vice President for Student Success and Support Services at the Universidad de Manila (UDM). Invited as a research panelist, Atty. Castillo showcased his expertise in criminology and public safety at the international conference, where leading scholars and practitioners from across Asia convened to discuss emerging trends and issues in the field.
Atty. Castillo also serves as the Governor of the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) for the National Capital Region Council and is Chancellor of PCAP Manila. His role as a member of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council of the Philippine Professional Regulations Commission further solidifies his influence in shaping the future of the criminology profession in the Philippines.
The conference, organized by the Asian Criminological Society (ACS) in collaboration with PCAP, brought together top experts to address topics such as criminal justice, technology’s
impact on crime, and public safety initiatives. Atty. Castillo’s participation, both as a panelist and a keynote speaker, reflects UDM’s ongoing commitment to providing expert advice and policy guidance to local, regional, and national government agencies, aligning with the university’s mission to advance public safety and justice.
