On August 7, 2024, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) honored the accomplishments of 773
first–generation graduates during its 26th Graduation Exercises, held at the Philippine
International Convention Center. This remarkable event, aligned with Sustainable
Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – Quality Education, highlighted the university’s commitment
to providing accessible, high–quality education that empowers students from diverse
backgrounds to break barriers and achieve academic success.
Graduates from all colleges and departments were celebrated for their perseverance and
dedication, marking a significant personal and familial achievement as the first in their
families to earn a college degree. This milestone not only reflects the students’ hard work
