May 11, 2022 — The Universidad De Manila (UDM) recently concluded its highly anticipated College Admission Test (UDM-CAT), a pivotal event in the university’s mission to support Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1) – No Poverty. Held from February 22 to May 11, 2022, at the UDM Main Campus, the event witnessed a massive turnout, reflecting the strong demand for accessible and quality education among Manila’s youth.
A total of 17,588 students applied for the UDM-CAT, with 5,154 qualifying for test permits after a thorough validation process conducted by the university’s Admission Committee. This committee, composed of 35 dedicated members, including volunteers from the Community Service Foundation (CSF) and the Federation of Graduates of Juan Sumulong (FGJS), ensured that the admission process was fair, transparent, and aligned with UDM’s high standards.
Applicants were required to present several key documents, including:
- Manila Barangay Certificate
- Voter’s ID or Certification
- Certified Second Quarter Grades
These requirements underscore UDM’s commitment to prioritizing residents of Manila, ensuring that local students have access to higher education opportunities.
The event was meticulously organized to accommodate the large number of applicants, ensuring that every qualified student had the opportunity to take the admission test despite the high demand. This initiative not only highlights UDM’s role in providing educational opportunities but also reinforces its broader mission to contribute to poverty reduction by enabling Manila’s youth to pursue higher education.
