A study conducted by Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, Dr. Leila R. Gano, and Ms. Laarnie Hernandez highlighted the transformative impact of the Associate in Barangay Governance (ABG) Program on local governance and grassroots leadership. Research findings emphasized significant enhancements in barangay officials’ leadership competencies, ethics, and governance skills. Testimonials from program participants indicated improved capabilities in policy formulation, transparent fiscal management, and the effective use of digital governance tools. Participants also expressed increased confidence in ethical decision-making, accountability, and public service. Practical program components such as hands-on development planning, financial accountability, and digital integration were shown to strengthen community-centered governance significantly. The research confirmed that ABG graduates experienced elevated awareness of ethical leadership standards, positively affecting community engagement and local governance transparency. The study recognized ongoing collaboration between academic institutions and governmental agencies as critical to the program’s sustainability and expansion. Ultimately, the ABG Program sets a strong benchmark for professionalizing barangay governance, creating a model for ethical grassroots leadership, accountability, and sustainable community development across local government units in the Philippines.
