December 15, 2023— Universidad De Manila, Philippines
On December 15, 2023, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) celebrated a significant
advancement in health sciences education with the inauguration of its cutting–edge Skills
Laboratory, located on the 4th floor of the UDM Main Campus. This milestone event,
aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health and Well–being,
marks a pivotal moment in the university’s commitment to training the next generation of
healthcare professionals.
The inauguration was attended by four key university administration officials, led by
University President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos–Tria, along with eight full–time faculty members
from the College of Health Sciences (CHS), 20 part–time nursing faculty, and a select group
of 10 nursing and 10 physical therapy students. This state–of–the–art facility is set to
transform the educational landscape for UDM’s health sciences students, providing them
with an innovative environment where they can develop and refine the critical skills needed
in their respective fields.
The new Skills Laboratory is equipped with advanced medical training tools and simulation
technology, enabling students to gain hands–on experience in a controlled, realistic
setting. This facility will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between theoretical
knowledge and practical application, ensuring that UDM graduates are well–prepared to
meet the challenges of the healthcare industry.
The inauguration of the CHS Skills Laboratory underscores UDM’s dedication to excellence
in education and its proactive approach to enhancing the quality of healthcare training. By
investing in such high–quality learning environments, UDM is not only improving the
educational outcomes of its students but also contributing to the broader goal of ensuring
good health and well–being for all.
