UDM Spreads Holiday Cheer at Paskong Manileño: A Celebration of Generosity and Unity

 

On December 22, 2022, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) proudly participated in the Paskong Manileño, a festive celebration held in a Barangay within the City of Manila. This event, organized by the Manila City Hall, brought together 695,000 families from across the city to experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season. The initiative is closely aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1) – No Poverty, as it aims to uplift the spirits of Manila’s underserved communities through acts of generosity and unity.

 

The event was graced by the presence of Manila’s leaders, including Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Honrado Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Cruz, who joined in the celebrations, spreading holiday cheer and reinforcing the city’s commitment to caring for its residents.

 

Paskong Manileño is more than just a holiday gathering; it is a testament to the power of community and the importance of compassion in addressing poverty. By bringing together thousands of families to share in the festivities, UDM and the City of Manila are fostering a sense of belonging and hope, reminding everyone that they are not alone during the holiday season.
