UDM Opens Sports Facilities to the Public, Promoting Health and Wellness
On January 10, 2022, the Universidad de Manila (UDM) launched an initiative to promote community health and well-being by opening its sports facilities for public use during the vacation season. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) – Good Health and Well-Being, UDM offered access to its basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts free of charge, allowing Manila residents to engage in physical activities and sports.
Under the leadership of UDM President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, the university aims to foster a culture of health and wellness by encouraging community members to stay active, particularly during times when students are not using the facilities. This initiative underscores UDM’s commitment to public health, providing a valuable resource for the local community to enhance their physical fitness and well-being.
The sharing of these facilities not only strengthens UDM’s ties with the local community but also promotes a healthy lifestyle for all, contributing to the overall well-being of Manila’s residents.
