Universidad de Manila (UdM) participated in the 2025 ALCU National Convention, significant gathering of leaders in Philippine Higher Education.

The convention was held on October 27–28, 2025, at the Grand Ballroom of the Heritage Hotel Manila. This year’s theme, “𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍: 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝑪𝑼𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕,” underscores the vital role of Local Colleges and Universities (LCUs) in national progress.

The two-day convention gathered LCU Presidents, Vice Presidents, Deans, Administrative and Program Heads, Faculty, Staff, as well as representatives from SUCs, Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEI), and Local Government Units to exchange insights on the role of LCUs in driving educational innovation and sustainable growth.

Plenary discussions covered key topics such as the LCU Local Government Act, Complementarity among LCUs and other HEIs, Internationalization, Curriculum Enhancement, Public Funding and Finance, Revisiting Outcome-Based Education, and the Higher Education Development Fund.
