UDM Launches 2025 with Employee Wellness Drive Through Fasting Blood Sugar Screening
To usher in the new year with a focus on preventive health, the University Health Services of Universidad De Manila conducted a Fasting Blood Sugar Screening for UDM employees on January 8, 2025, at the UDM University Clinic.
Led by the University Health Clinic Staff, the program aimed to raise awareness of early detection and monitoring of diabetes and metabolic risks, conditions that are increasingly prevalent among working adults due to sedentary routines and dietary challenges.
Aligned with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, the health initiative emphasized that wellness begins at the workplace. By offering free glucose testing and counseling, the university encouraged employees to adopt healthier lifestyles through informed choices, reinforcing that regular screening is not just medical protocol—it is self-care and family protection.
The activity also cultivated a culture of shared responsibility, reminding the workforce that a healthy institution starts with healthy individuals. With this early start to 2025, UDM set a strong example of how organizations can champion preventive healthcare through practical and accessible interventions.
