The Universidad de Manila (UDM) recently held a two-day Basic and Advanced MS Excel training program to develop its workforce’s technical capabilities and increase productivity. The initiative, held on November 26 and 27, 2024, focuses on educating personnel with key data management and analytical abilities required for their daily tasks.
The training was divided into two levels, catering to different skill sets. The Basic MS Excel Training covered essential functions such as creating and formatting spreadsheets, using simple formulas, and organizing data efficiently. Meanwhile, the Advanced MS Excel Training offered an in-depth exploration of complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques. These advanced skills enable employees to handle large datasets, generate insightful reports, and improve decision-making processes.
Mr. Emmanuel Gatdula, Head of the Information, Communication, and Technology Office, led the sessions with a hands-on approach, allowing participants to practice in real-time and apply their learning to real-life scenarios. His interactive and practical methodology received positive feedback from attendees, who appreciated the relevance and applicability of the lessons.
The UDM Human Resources Management and Development (HRMD) Section spearheaded this training initiative, which reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to employee development. By investing in programs that improve technical proficiency, UDM ensures that its employees remain competitive and well-equipped to face changing workplace challenges.
UDM’s efforts to foster continuous professional growth underscore its dedication to building a dynamic and competent workforce that can contribute meaningfully to the institution’s success.
