In a move that strengthens its commitment to local governance and community development,
Universidad de Manila (UDM) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
with the Multistakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC), organized by the Department of Interior
and Local Government National Capital Region (DILG–NCR). The ceremonial signing took
place on June 25, 2024, at Ardenhills Suites, Sct. Albano, Timog, Quezon City.
This landmark agreement underscores UDM’s pivotal role as a local university, particularly in
areas such as capacity development, community extension, and research programs. The
collaboration between UDM and MSAC is poised to create a unified approach to tackling
community challenges and advancing shared goals.
The MSAC serves as a crucial network of organizations that partner with Local Governance
Resource Centers (LGRCs) under the DILG. Through this partnership, UDM will play an
instrumental role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of LGRC operations by fostering
strong collaboration, cooperation, and coordination. The council’s efforts aim to facilitate the
voluntary sharing of information, resources, and expertise in local governance, ultimately
benefiting local government units (LGUs) and their communities.
This MOU marks a significant step forward in UDM’s ongoing mission to drive sustainable
development and empower local governance through strategic partnerships.
