In support of SDG 4 – Quality Education, the Universidad De Manila (UDM), through the College of Education, launched a community outreach initiative that provides free learning support to the children of Barangay 659.
Under this program, the children of Barangay 659 are given access to both the UDM classroom facilities and the Barangay Day Care Center for supplementary learning sessions facilitated by Education students. The initiative focuses on strengthening reading, writing, and arithmetic (3Rs) — the foundational skills necessary for early learning success.
The program also welcomes the children of UDM employees, creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child can benefit from personalized attention and interactive teaching methods.
By offering free use of learning spaces and volunteer teaching assistance, UDM demonstrates its strong commitment to community partnership and educational inclusivity. The initiative reflects the University’s mission to make quality education accessible for all, especially for young learners in nearby communities.
Through collaboration, compassion, and shared responsibility, UDM continues to empower both its students and the next generation of learners—proving that education truly begins with community care.
