Mastering Dissertations and Research: Webinar Equips Educators, Practitioners, and Students for Success
The College of Engineering and Technology (CET) successfully hosted an insightful webinar on September 8, 2022, aimed at enhancing the research and writing skills of educators, industry practitioners, and students. The event featured two distinguished speakers who shared practical approaches to tackling dissertations and research projects.
Professor Angelo Arguson of FEU-TECH delivered the first session, titled “A Practical Guide to Dissertation and Thesis Writing.” Drawing on his extensive academic experience, Prof. Arguson provided a step-by-step framework for creating and completing scholarly work. He emphasized the importance of structuring dissertations systematically, conducting thorough literature reviews, and adhering to rigorous academic standards. Attendees praised his presentation for its clarity and actionable strategies.
Dr. Rhonnel Paculanan, a part-time faculty member at Universidad de Manila, emphasized the interdisciplinary nature of research during the second session, “A Practical Guide in Research for Teachers, Industry Practitioners, and Students.” His talk centered on connecting academic research to real-world applications, encouraging attendees to consider novel solutions to industrial and societal challenges. Dr. Paculanan also offered advice on how to choose relevant research topics and take advantage of collaborative opportunities.
The webinar provided a platform for participants to interact with the speakers via a dynamic Q&A session, which enhanced the learning experience. Attendees thanked the College of Engineering and Technology for organizing the event, noting that the insights gained will significantly contribute to their academic and professional growth.
