Manila, Philippines — Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Manila received a boost in business development knowledge as the first free training session of the “EMPOWERED MSMEs – A Seminar on Branding and Trademark Registration Process” was held on July 31, 2024, at Palma Hall, Universidad de Manila. The event marked the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at supporting MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs in the city.
This seminar is a flagship project of the City Government of Manila, led by Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan. It was organized through the joint efforts of the Local Economic Development & Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO Manila) and the Bureau of Permits Manila, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) National Capital Regional Office.
The first session focused on equipping participants with essential knowledge about branding and the trademark registration process, key components for establishing a successful and legally protected business identity. The training aimed to empower MSMEs to compete more effectively in the market by understanding the importance of creating a strong brand and securing their intellectual property rights.
