In support of SDG 5 – Gender Equality, specifically SDG 5.3 on Mentoring, the College of Education (CED) of Universidad De Manila conducted an In-House Training on “A Comprehensive Guide to Table of Specification (TOS)” on January 31, 2025, held at the Accreditation Room.
The session was attended by 19 regular faculty members of CED, all of whom play a key role in mentoring future educators and ensuring assessment standards in teacher education. The training focused on enhancing faculty competence in designing valid and reliable assessment tools, specifically through the effective construction of Table of Specifications—a crucial instrument in balancing content coverage and cognitive levels in examinations.
Beyond technical instruction, the activity served as a mentoring platform, fostering peer learning and collaborative academic refinement among faculty members. Experienced professors shared best practices, while newer educators received guided support, promoting inclusive professional growth regardless of tenure or rank.
By equipping faculty with improved assessment literacy and mentorship skills, UDM reaffirms its commitment to empowering educators—both male and female—as leaders, trainers, and academic guardians of the next generation.
