In support of SDG 4 – Quality Education, the Universidad De Manila (UDM) implemented the Physical Education for the Juvenile Youth Center Manila program at the Manila Youth Reception Center, delivering structured physical fitness and character development sessions for young residents.
Led by Physical Education students, the initiative went beyond exercise — it utilized sports, movement, and teamwork activities as powerful tools to promote discipline, cooperation, respect, and emotional resilience. Participants engaged in group drills, team relays, and motivational coaching, transforming the gym space into a classroom of values-based learning.
The program highlighted that education is not confined to books or lectures — it also lives in motion, discipline, and teamwork. For youth undergoing rehabilitation, physical training became a constructive outlet for energy and emotion, helping reshape mindsets through positive peer interaction and structured routines.
By bringing compassionate leadership and active mentorship into the juvenile care setting, UDM demonstrated that sports can heal, guide, and rebuild. The initiative reinforced a core belief: every young person deserves a chance to grow — not just academically, but physically, mentally, and morally.
