UDM Strengthens Disease Prevention Efforts Through Hepatitis B Awareness Seminar
On March 5, 2025, the University Health Services Administration and Staff of Universidad De Manila (UDM) held a Hepatitis B Awareness Seminar at the UDM University Library, engaging selected university students in an important health briefing focused on one of the country’s most persistent viral infections.
Aligned with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, the seminar aimed to educate, protect, and empower the student body by tackling key information about causes, risk factors, transmission methods, preventive strategies, and available treatments for Hepatitis B. The discussion highlighted that Hepatitis B, while potentially life-threatening if ignored, is highly preventable and manageable when detected early.
Students were encouraged to adopt safe health practices, undergo screening when necessary, and promote vaccination awareness among their peers and families. The session also served as a reminder that well-being is a shared responsibility, starting from personal lifestyle choices to broader community advocacy.
Through this initiative, UDM reaffirmed its role not only as an academic institution but as a champion of public health resilience, integrating education with prevention to safeguard the future workforce of society.
