In line with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, particularly Indicator 3.3.5 on Mental Health Support, the Universidad De Manila (UDM) continues to prioritize the mental wellness of its students, staff and faculty through accessible, free, and confidential Mental Health Support Services.
Spearheaded by the UDM Guidance, Counseling and Psychological Services Office, under the leadership of Ms. April Joy P. Domingo, the University ensures that every student has access to professional guidance counselors who are trained to assist with various mental health concerns — including stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, and academic pressure. These counselors provide one-on-one sessions, group counseling, and wellness programs designed to foster emotional resilience and positive coping mechanisms.
To ensure wider dissemination, UDM has strengthened its communication efforts through classroom announcements, student orientations, posters, and digital platforms to inform all students about where and how they can seek help. This proactive approach aims to prevent anxiety and mental distress by encouraging early intervention and fostering a culture of openness toward mental wellness.
UDM reaffirms that mental health care is an essential part of education. By providing consistent access to support services and promoting awareness, the University continues to cultivate a compassionate and resilient student community—where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.
