In its continuous effort to foster a healthy and supportive learning environment, the Universidad de Manila (UDM), through the Guidance Counseling and Psychological Services Office (GCPSO), conducted a Stress Management Seminar for selected freshmen students on September 12, 2025 (Friday) at UDM Palma Hall.
The seminar aimed to help students navigate the emotional and academic challenges of transitioning into college life by promoting mental wellness, mindfulness, and resilience. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, participants learned practical strategies for managing academic pressure, maintaining emotional balance, and building healthy coping habits.
Students identified by the Guidance Office as part of their clearance process were required to attend, while other interested freshmen were also encouraged to participate. The event highlighted that mental health care, self-awareness, and emotional regulation are integral to achieving both personal growth and academic success.
This initiative reaffirms UDM’s dedication to nurturing a safe, empathetic, and mentally healthy campus community. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by emphasizing inclusivity, compassion, and institutional support as foundations of a peaceful and resilient academic environment.
