On September 12, 2025, the Guidance, Counselling, and Psychological Services Office of Universidad De Manila (UDM) conducted a Mental Health Talk and Stress Management Seminar from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN at Palma Hall, gathering 291 identified “red flag” students — individuals assessed as needing heightened emotional and psychological support.
Aligned with SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, the program addressed mental wellness as an essential component of student success, recognizing that academic performance is deeply affected by personal, family, and emotional struggles.
The seminar aimed to:
- Foster belongingness and peer connection, ensuring no student feels isolated
- Teach practical coping mechanisms for stress, anxiety, and overwhelming responsibilities
- Offer on-campus support pathways through counseling and follow-up interventions
- Affirm that mental struggles are valid and help is available
The high level of engagement from participants demonstrated that students are not merely seeking academic guidance—but emotional stability and human connection. By directly reaching out to its most vulnerable learners, UDM reaffirmed its role as not just an educational institution, but a safe and caring community.
This initiative reflects the university’s belief that mental health care is not optional—it is foundational to building resilient graduates.
