In alignment with SDG 5 – Gender Equality, particularly SDG 5.3 on Mentoring, Universidad De Manila held a Research Workshop on Publication in High-Impact Journals on February 19 and 26, 2025, at the Accreditation Room.
A total of 20 regular faculty members participated in the two-day capacity-building program, which focused on guiding educators through the rigorous process of preparing manuscripts for international peer-reviewed journals. The sessions covered research framing, journal selection strategies, formatting standards, peer-review navigation, and manuscript resubmission techniques.
More than a technical training, the event served as a mentorship platform—where experienced researchers provided direct coaching, constructive critique, and publication advice to their peers. This collaborative setup fostered a supportive research culture, empowering both male and female faculty members to break barriers in academic publishing, an area traditionally dominated by elite institutions.
Through initiatives like this, UDM actively promotes research equity, ensuring that women and men in academia receive equal access to professional development and scholarly advancement.
The workshop stands as a clear step toward transforming faculty into global contributors, proving that mentoring within the institution is key to institutional excellence and research visibility.
