The Universidad de Manila Guidance Counseling and Psychological Services Office successfully conducted a Mental Health Seminar titled “Take Charge: Cultivating Confidence and Achieving Goals” on February 6, 2025, at the Cecilia Muñoz Palma Hall. The seminar aimed to empower students and employees to take control of their academic and personal journeys by fostering self-confidence, resilience, and goal-oriented thinking.
The session provided participants with insights on how to build self-confidence, overcome self-doubt, and view challenges as opportunities for personal growth. Attendees learned practical goal-setting strategies, self-advocacy techniques, and methods to develop a growth mindset—all essential tools for thriving in both academic and life pursuits.
This initiative reflects UDM’s commitment to promoting mental well-being and holistic development among its community members. By creating spaces for open dialogue and personal reflection, the university continues to uphold the values of SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, nurturing individuals who are mentally resilient and socially responsible.
The event concluded with a call for self-empowerment, reminding everyone that confidence is not just about believing in oneself but also about acting with purpose and perseverance in the face of challenges.
