The Universidad de Manila Supreme Student Government (UDM-SSG) successfully held a one-day leadership and capacity-building seminar titled “Building Capable Leaders for a Sustainable Future” on September 6, 2025, at the Universidad de Manila.
The event, conducted in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – National Capital Region (DENR-NCR), brought together student leaders from various organizations across UDM. It aimed to strengthen their leadership capabilities and instill the values of purpose-driven service.
Throughout the seminar, resource speakers emphasized that true leadership goes beyond skills, knowledge, and achievements. They underscored that passion, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serve are what define effective leaders—those who can truly inspire and influence change within their communities.
The initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, as it supports the development of capable and responsible youth leaders who will contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth in their future professions and civic engagements.
The program concluded with an empowering message that celebrated the leaders of tomorrow—individuals driven by both competence and compassion, ready to lead with heart, integrity, and vision for a sustainable future.
