In support of SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 1 – No Poverty, the Universidad De Manila (UDM), through its Center for Microcredentialing and Industry Training, held the Bread and Pastry Graduation – Batch 2 at the Manila Youth Reception Center, celebrating the successful completion of its free vocational training program in baking and confectionery.
Present during the ceremony were leaders from the Center for Microcredentialing and Industry Training, alongside UDM President Dr. Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, who recognized the graduates for their determination, discipline, and commitment to self-improvement.
The Bread and Pastry Production program, offered free of charge, serves as a pathway to livelihood by equipping participants with hands-on skills for employment, home-based microbusinesses, and food enterprise opportunities. More than a ceremony, the event marked the beginning of economic independence for learners who now possess marketable and practical skills that can uplift their families and communities.
By offering accessible and industry-relevant training, UDM affirms that education is not confined to degree programs—it also includes technical and vocational learning that directly leads to income generation and sustainable employment. This initiative underscores the university’s deep commitment to inclusive education, ensuring that learning opportunities are available to all, regardless of background or financial capacity.
Through programs like this, UDM continues to champion lifelong learning, workforce readiness, and social empowerment, ensuring that no learner is left behind in the pursuit of progress and prosperity.
