In pursuit of SDG 4 – Quality Education, the College of Education, through its Physical Education students, launched the Continuing Education for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) program at the Manila City Jail – Female Dormitory.
This free education program serves as a meaningful outreach initiative designed to provide literacy, skills training, and lifelong learning opportunities to the female residents of the facility. The program underscores the belief that education is a powerful tool for rehabilitation, personal growth, and empowerment, regardless of circumstance. The training will give free vocational education that suits to the needs of the PDL.
By offering structured learning sessions and wellness activities, the program helps participants rediscover their confidence, build new competencies, and prepare for productive reintegration into society. It also aligns with the University’s commitment to inclusive education—ensuring that learning remains accessible to all, especially to those seeking a second chance through education.
